'Celestrina' · Bark pendant

£65.00

Hand-painted bark pendant · gold acrylic on bark wood

Every piece in this collection starts the same way: a fragment of fallen bark from ancient woodland, cleaned and painted entirely by hand, its shape left exactly as it was found. Here, the wing splits into two mirrored halves — one in azure blue, one in warm brown and black — each carrying the same radiating gold fan, outlined in white, meeting at a shared centre line.

Celastrina takes its name from the genus known as the Azures — small blue butterflies named directly for this exact shade. Each piece in the Bark & Grain jewellery series is named for a cloud or a butterfly — something real, that still leaves room for the imagination to wander.
One name. One piece.
Retired when sold.

WHAT MAKES THIS PIECE YOURS
One of a kind: The natural shape and grain of the bark make this piece unrepeatable. When it sells, it is gone.
——
WHAT ARRIVES:
Black jewellery box · original hand-drawn illustration by the artist · a story card telling you where this piece began. All in a recycled kraft box, sealed and carefully wrapped.
If you would like to add a personal message or drawing/painting please ask. I am happy to make it even more unique for you!
——
CARE:
Avoid prolonged water exposure · wipe with a soft dry cloth · store away from direct sunlight.

Each work in the Bark & Grain series carries one name. The bark is real — not cast, not replicated, not recreated. A two-hundred-year-old pine shaped it. Collected, restored, and painted — one brushstroke at a time — until its story surfaced. None of it can be repeated. One piece. Forever.
